Ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, a meeting of DMK Youth Wing’s southern regional office-bearers was held in Virudhunagar district on Saturday. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, and Member of Parliament Kanimozhi participated in the meeting and addressed party cadres.
Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister and DMK Youth Wing Secretary Udhayanidhi Stalin launched a sharp attack on AIADMK General Secretary and Leader of the Opposition Edappadi K. Palanisamy, calling him “the biggest slave in India.”
“Dear Edappadi Palanisamy, you can walk straight only if you hold your head high and look at the road ahead. But if you keep walking while staring at the feet of Narendra Modi and Amit Shah, you will inevitably end up at a dead end,” Udhayanidhi Stalin said, accusing the AIADMK leadership of surrendering Tamil Nadu’s interests to the BJP.
Udhayanidhi Stalin said the AIADMK had lost its political independence and was functioning as a “subordinate force” of the BJP, failing to raise its voice on issues affecting the State, including federal rights, social justice, and Tamil Nadu’s share of resources from the Centre.
Highlighting the organisational strength of the ruling party, he said the DMK was the only political party in the country with such a strong and structured youth wing. “The DMK Youth Wing has over 50 lakh members and nearly five lakh executives. This strength is not accidental; it is the result of continuous work, discipline, and commitment to Dravidian ideology,” he said, calling upon cadres to intensify grassroots-level work ahead of the 2026 elections.
Udhayanidhi Stalin urged Youth Wing functionaries to take the government’s welfare schemes to every household and counter what he described as misinformation spread by opposition parties. He also emphasised the need to stand firmly against communal politics and protect the values of social justice, equality, and rationalism championed by the DMK.
Taking a dig at the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) and its founder Vijay, Udhayanidhi Stalin said that politics could not be run by “crowds without discipline or direction.” “Tamil Nadu will not benefit from uncontrolled crowds. In fact, such politics will not even benefit those who engage in it,” he remarked, stressing that governance requires experience, ideology, and accountability.
