CBI Questions TVK Office-Bearers for Over Six Hours

CBI day1 TVK

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday questioned several office-bearers of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) for more than six hours, triggering fresh political discussions across Tamil Nadu. According to sources, the interrogation took place at a CBI office where key party functionaries were summoned as part of an ongoing inquiry.

During the questioning, officials reportedly raised serious queries related to the activities of the party office-bearers, including questions such as “Why were you absconding?” and “Who provided you shelter during that period?” The agency is also said to have examined aspects related to organisational functioning, financial dealings, and internal coordination within the party.

The development assumes political significance as TVK, led by actor-turned-politician Vijay, has been gaining momentum in Tamil Nadu’s political landscape. With the party expanding its grassroots presence and preparing for upcoming electoral challenges, the CBI action has drawn widespread attention and speculation.

Party sources indicated that the office-bearers fully cooperated with the investigation and responded to all questions raised by the agency. They maintained that there was no wrongdoing and expressed confidence that the facts would eventually come out through the legal process.

Meanwhile, political observers view the prolonged questioning as a critical moment for TVK, noting that such investigations often carry both legal and political implications. Whether the inquiry will continue with further summons or lead to additional developments remains to be seen, as no official statement has yet been issued by the CBI.

The episode has once again highlighted the intense scrutiny faced by emerging political parties in the state, particularly those that have begun to influence voter sentiment and disrupt established political equations.
