Ahead of 2026 Assembly Elections, a meeting of the DMK Youth Wing’s Southern Regional office-bearers was held in Virudhunagar district on Saturday, with several senior party leaders in attendance. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, and Member of Parliament Kanimozhi participated in the meeting and addressed the gathering.
Addressing party workers, Chief Minister Stalin launched a sharp attack on AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K. Palanisamy, accusing him of aligning completely with the BJP-led NDA. “Edappadi Palanisamy has now fully transformed into NDA Palanisamy. Instead of opposing those who gave ‘zero’ to Tamil Nadu, he is behaving like a BJP party worker,” Stalin said.
Taking a dig at Palanisamy’s claim of leading the alliance, Stalin remarked, “Like the popular Tamil cinema dialogue ‘Naanum Rowdy Thaan’, Edappadi Palanisamy calls himself the leader of the alliance.” He also criticised the removal of O. Panneerselvam from the AIADMK and the inclusion of T.T.V. Dhinakaran’s AMMK in the NDA alliance.
Issuing a call to party cadres, Stalin said, “In this election, the fight is between the NDA alliance and Tamil Nadu. In this fight, we must ensure that Tamil Nadu emerges victorious.”
The Chief Minister also targeted the Union Budget 2026–27, alleging that Tamil Nadu had been neglected. “They gave ‘zero’ to us. We should give ‘zero’ to them in the elections as well. Just like the parliamentary elections, they should receive ‘zero’ in the Assembly elections,” he said.
Calling upon party workers to intensify grassroots efforts, Stalin urged them to work towards a massive victory in the upcoming Assembly elections. “Our target is ‘We will win 200’. I am ready to script history. Are you ready?” he asked the gathering.
Referring to the large turnout at the meeting, Stalin described the gathering as a reflection of the party’s strength. “For others, DMK itself represents grandeur. That grandeur increases when it comes to the Youth Wing, and even more so when it comes to Udhayanidhi Stalin,” he added.
