KL Rahul delivered a historic performance during the IPL 2026 clash between Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, registering one of the most remarkable innings in men’s T20 cricket. The right-hander remained unbeaten on 152, setting multiple records across both the IPL and Indian T20 cricket.

KL Rahul’s 152* is now the highest individual score by an Indian in men’s T20s, surpassing the previous best of 151 by Tilak Varma against Meghalaya in 2024. His innings also went past notable scores such as 148 by Abhishek Sharma, 147 by Shreyas Iyer, and 146* by Punit Bisht, placing Rahul at the top of the all-time list for Indian batters in the format.

In IPL history, KL Rahul’s knock stands as the third-highest individual score. He now trails only Chris Gayle, who holds the record with an unbeaten 175 for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2013, and Brendon McCullum, who scored 158* in the inaugural IPL match in 2008. Rahul’s innings also surpassed previous high scores, including 141 by Abhishek Sharma and 140* by Quinton de Kock.

The Delhi Capitals batter also recorded one of the highest boundary counts in IPL history. KL Rahul struck 25 boundaries, including fours and sixes, which is the second-highest in a single IPL innings. Only Chris Gayle’s tally of 30 boundaries in his 175* innings remains ahead. Rahul’s effort placed him above performances by Yashasvi Jaiswal and Abhishek Sharma, both of whom had recorded 24 boundaries in their respective innings.

KL Rahul’s innings was further highlighted by a record partnership with Nitish Rana. The pair added 220 runs, marking the second-highest partnership in IPL history for any wicket. This stand is behind only the 229-run partnership between AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2016.

With this century, KL Rahul moved to six IPL hundreds, equalling Chris Gayle in the list of most centuries in the tournament. He now trails only Virat Kohli, who leads with eight centuries, and Jos Buttler with seven.

In terms of aggregate runs, Rahul has reached 5,579 runs in the league and has surpassed Suresh Raina to become the fifth-highest run-scorer in IPL history. The list continues to be led by Virat Kohli, followed by Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, and David Warner.
