Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is reportedly set to headline an upcoming film by filmmaker duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K., with Samantha Ruth Prabhu being considered for the female lead in what could become one of the most unusual collaborations in recent Indian cinema.
According to industry reports, the project is described as an unconventional superhero film that blends action with humour, a genre shift for Salman Khan, whose filmography has largely centred on action dramas and commercial entertainers. If finalised, the film would mark the first on-screen pairing between Salman Khan and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, creating a major pan-Indian collaboration between Bollywood and South Indian cinema.
Sources indicate that the film is still in early development, with casting and production details yet to be officially confirmed. Samantha is reportedly among the frontrunners for the lead role, and the makers are keen to bring her on board given her previous collaboration with Raj & DK in the hit series “The Family Man.”
The project is expected to feature Salman Khan as a reluctant superhero, possibly with a satirical or comedic angle that deviates from conventional superhero narratives. Reports suggest the story may revolve around a hero who wants to retire but is drawn back into action, giving the film a fresh narrative style compared with typical superhero blockbusters.

Meanwhile, Salman Khan’s upcoming slate already includes the war drama Battle of Galwan, based on the 2020 India–China border clash and scheduled for release in April 2026. The actor is also reportedly exploring several large-scale projects with filmmakers from across the country as part of a pan-India strategy.
