Actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay and actress Trisha Krishnan attended the wedding reception of film producer Kalpathi S. Suresh and Meenakshi Suresh’s son in Chennai. Videos and photographs from the event showed the two actors arriving at the venue and later appearing on stage to greet the newlyweds.
Vijay was seen wearing a gold-coloured silk shirt paired with a traditional veshti, while Trisha attended the event in a gold silk saree with a red blouse and emerald jewellery. The two actors were also seen posing for photographs with the bride and groom during the reception.
Appearance Comes Amid Divorce Proceedings
The public appearance occurred days after Vijay’s wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, filed a divorce petition at the Chengalpattu family court in Tamil Nadu. In the petition, Sangeetha alleged that the actor was involved in an extramarital relationship with an actress and stated that the situation had caused her “deep emotional pain and mental suffering.”
According to the filing, the couple had attempted to resolve their marital issues through discussions and legal correspondence over several years, but the efforts did not result in a settlement. The petition stated that the marriage had “irretrievably broken down” and sought a divorce decree along with permanent alimony and residential rights.
Sangeetha also stated in her submission that the alleged relationship and continued public association with the actress had led to embarrassment and distress for her and the family. The petition requested that the court conduct the proceedings privately to protect the dignity of those involved.
Speculation and Silence
Speculation linking Vijay and Trisha has circulated for several years, though neither actor has publicly confirmed or denied the rumours. The divorce petition did not name the actress mentioned in the allegations. Both Vijay and Trisha have also not issued any public statement regarding the claims or their appearance together at the wedding reception.
The two actors have previously worked together in several Tamil films, including Ghilli, Thirupaachi, Aathi, Kuruvi, and Leo. Their joint appearance at the Chennai reception has intensified public discussion surrounding the ongoing divorce case and the allegations mentioned in the court filing.
