The makers of ‘Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups’ have postponed the film’s release citing ongoing international tensions in the Middle East. The film, headlined by Yash, was earlier scheduled to release on March 19, 2026, and will now arrive in cinemas worldwide on June 4, 2026.
In an official statement shared on social media, KVN Productions said, “Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups is a film we conceptualised with the vision to create cinema for a global audience. After years of dedicated labour, we were excited to share our film with you all on the 19th of March.” The statement further read, “However, the current uncertainty, especially in the Middle East, has created a situation that impacts our goal to reach and connect with the widest possible audience.”
The makers added, “In the interest of our partners and our audience, we have decided to postpone the release.” They confirmed, “Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups will now be released in cinemas across the globe in English and Indian languages on 4th June 2026.”
Reports indicate that the decision was taken considering the film’s significant overseas distribution plans, particularly in markets across the Middle East, where theatrical operations and audience turnout could be affected due to the prevailing situation. The postponement also led to changes in the promotional calendar, with planned promotional events and marketing activities being rescheduled in line with the new release date.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas and jointly produced by KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations, the film has been mounted as a large-scale multilingual project. It has been shot in Kannada and English and is set to release in multiple Indian languages including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam, alongside its English version, as part of a global rollout strategy.
Apart from Yash, the cast includes Nayanthara, Kiara Advani, Huma Qureshi, Rukmini Vasanth and Tara Sutaria in key roles.
With the revised date now confirmed, the film is positioned for a worldwide theatrical release on June 4, 2026, following the postponement attributed to international tensions.
