Seeman, the chief coordinator of Naam Tamilar Katchi, has reportedly lost the trust of Eelam Tamils, and the latest incident has brought this to light again.
A significant book about Pottu Amman, a highly respected figure among Eelam Tamils and second-in-command to LTTE leader Prabhakaran, is set to be released this evening in Tamil Nadu.
The event will be presided over by Kolathur Mani, leader of the Dravidar Viduthalai Kazhagam, with actor Sathyaraj invited to deliver a special address. The book, titled under the “Nesakkaram” YouTube channel, is authored by Shanthi Nesakkaram.
Despite the importance of this occasion, Seeman has not been invited. Sources say some of Seeman’s supporters pressured the author to have him release the book, However, supporters of Seeman pressured Mrs. Shanti Nesakaram, the author of the book, insisting that she release the book with Seeman in the forefront.
But the author, Mrs. Shanti Nesakaram, resisted all that pressure.
At one point, Seeman, in an intoxicated state, spoke obscenely about Pottu Amman, and that audio deeply wounded the hearts of Eelam Tamils.
In such a context, Mr. Karthic Manoharan questioned how it could be righteous to have Seeman release the book about Pottu Amman, and Mrs Nesakkaram Shanti agreed with his view. Therefore, she rejected Seeman.
Because of this, author Shanti has faced multiple threats and emotional harassment.
Her rejection of Seeman seems to reflect the sentiments of the entire Eelam Tamil community.
It also appears that Seeman is mentally distressed by the fact that posters were made using images of both Periyar and Prabhakaran.
This snub is said to reflect Seeman’s eroding credibility among Eelam Tamils, due to reasons like his continued political failures, derogatory remarks about Karthic Manoharan, controversial statements about Periyar, and the ongoing issue involving actress Vijayalakshmi.
Overall, the incident underscores how Seeman has lost the confidence and respect once placed in him by Eelam Tamil communities.
