Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. K. Stalin strongly criticised the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) during his speech at the state conference of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) held in Siruganur near Trichy on Sunday. Addressing party cadres and supporters, Stalin said the people of Tamil Nadu would not allow the NDA to gain political control in the state and asserted that Dravidian ideology would continue to guide its politics.

During the conference, Stalin declared that Tamil Nadu would remain outside the political influence of the BJP-led alliance. He said, “Tamil Nadu will always say ‘No’ to the NDA. The NDA will always say ‘No’ to Tamil Nadu’s rights. Therefore, there is no entry for the NDA in Tamil Nadu.”

The Chief Minister also criticised the AIADMK leadership and accused it of aligning with the BJP for political reasons. Referring to the opposition party’s position, Stalin alleged that the AIADMK had surrendered its political independence. He said the party had placed itself under the control of the BJP leadership instead of standing up for the state’s interests.

During his speech, Stalin used a cricket analogy while addressing party cadres and supporters. Referring to the purpose of the series of party conferences, he said they were aimed at turning political momentum into a decisive victory. He said, “For the past three months, conferences have been held continuously. Seeing nearly 10 lakh people gathered at this conference makes me feel younger. I have grown and risen because of you. I live for you. From Kalaignar to me, I see the same affection. In cricket, scoring runs from the beginning is good, but the aim of these conferences is to hit a six in the final moments of the match and turn it into a grand victory.”

Through this analogy, Stalin highlighted that while political groundwork had already been laid, the objective of the ongoing conferences was to convert that momentum into a decisive electoral success for the DMK and its alliance.

Stalin emphasised that the DMK government would continue to defend Tamil Nadu’s rights and oppose any attempts to undermine the state’s autonomy. He reiterated that the principles of the Dravidian movement would guide the party’s politics and governance in the state.
