In a major political development in Tamil Nadu, AIADMK MLA Manoj Pandian has officially joined the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). The induction took place in the presence of Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, marking another significant addition to the ruling party’s ranks.
Manoj Pandian, who had been representing the Alangulam constituency, contested and won in the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections as a candidate of the AIADMK, securing around 36% of the total votes. His move to the DMK is being viewed as a symbolic boost for the ruling party, especially in the southern districts of the state.
During the joining event, senior DMK leaders welcomed him into the party fold, expressing confidence that his experience and influence would strengthen the party’s organizational presence in the Tirunelveli region.
Political observers suggest that this switch may further reshape the political landscape ahead of future elections, as defections from the opposition to the ruling camp continue to gain attention.
Manoj Pandian expressed gratitude to Chief Minister M.K. Stalin and pledged to work for the welfare of the people under the DMK’s governance and development vision.
