Actor-turned-politician Vijay unveiled the election manifesto of his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, ahead of the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections 2026, outlining a wide range of welfare measures, governance reforms, and sector-focused initiatives, while criticising the Dravidian parties over unfulfilled electoral assurances. The announcement comes amid intensified political activity as multiple states prepare for Assembly elections.
Presenting the document, Vijay said the manifesto is aimed at addressing economic challenges faced by households and improving governance through transparency and technology-driven systems. He stated that the party seeks to position itself as an alternative political force focused on inclusive development, social justice, and efficient administration, with special attention to women, farmers, and economically weaker sections.
The manifesto outlines several key promises:
- Monthly financial support of ₹2,500 for women heads of families (up to 60 years)
- Six free LPG cylinders annually for every household
- Marriage assistance including 8 grams of gold and a silk saree for brides from families earning below ₹5 lakh per year
- Annual support of ₹15,000 for mothers of students studying in government or aided schools from Classes 1 to 12
- Interest-free loans up to ₹5 lakh for women-led self-help groups
- Establishment of 100 residential Kamarajar model schools with high-quality facilities
- Higher education loans of up to ₹20 lakh without collateral
- Free AI-based coaching centres for competitive examinations
- Family health insurance coverage of up to ₹25 lakh
- Free full-body health check-ups every year
- Measures aimed at creating a drug-free Tamil Nadu
- Monthly financial assistance of up to ₹4,000 for unemployed graduates
- “Mudhalvar Makkal Sevai Nanbar” scheme offering stipend-based internships to five lakh youth

- Complete waiver of cooperative crop loans for farmers owning less than 5 acres
